Characteristic

Function 



  1. DI boxes can convert unbalanced high impedance signals (such as guitar or keyboard output signals) into balanced low impedance signals (such as mixing consoles), and obtain clearer and less noisy sound.

  2. Ground/lift switch: Noise can be eliminated by disconnecting the ground wire connection between the input and output.

  3. Convert unbalanced signals into balanced signals transmitted on differential Canon lines. (The former has a transmission distance of less than 20 meters, and the distance in places with severe electronic interference is shorter; the latter can reach a transmission distance of over 100 meters.)

Application Scenarios



Between the mixing console and the instrument


During the band's performance, the distance between the electric guitar and the mixing console is relatively long (the cable exceeds 10 meters), and the on-site interference factors are uncontrollable. At this time, DI (using an isolator for emergency) needs to be used. DI (isolator) has two purposes in this scenario:

1. Convert the unbalanced high impedance interface of the electric guitar into a balanced low impedance interface suitable for connecting to the mixing console, and impedance matching avoids the loss of bass signals.

2. Unbalanced to balanced transmission avoids noise problems caused by excessively long cables.

3. Audio isolation protection ensures that there is no current surge due to ground potential difference between the front and rear devices, preventing the impact of signal wires when inserting and unplugging electroacoustic instruments.
